Diwali: Only one day holiday in Tamil Nadu, but…
CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu go nment's official calendar confirms that there will be only one day holiday for Diwali. Schools and colleges will be closed only on Sunday (October 27).
Education department officials said that the decision was taken to ensure that schools work for minimum number of working days (210 per academic year).
Some parents wanted Saturday also to be a holiday so that they can travel to their native places and buy crackers and sweets the previous day.
We don''t care about the govt rules!!!
Meanwhile they announce holidays for random relatively trivial stuff such as 75th birthday of some leader etc.
both fireworks and sweets are bad. celebrate all festivals without them
Dravidian Tamilians have already all converted to Vatican. So, no difference.
Diwali should not be celebrated at all... even bogi festival.. reason simple, protecting Earth, air and ozone layer... all celebration, industries and anything related to air pollution should be stopped forever.. protect Earth
Already Schools and colleges are closed on Sunday. What''s new. Crazy guy
